A Whole Cottage to Yourselves, in the Heart of Kintbury

Make yourself at home

Tucked away in the Berkshire village of Kintbury, The Old Stables is a warm, beautifully finished cottage made for slow weekends — muddy dog walks along the canal, a pint at the pub round the corner, and evenings in with nowhere to be.

Whether you’re arriving by car or stepping off the train from London, you’ll find everything set up for a proper break: a king-size bed with luxury linens, a fully equipped kitchen, fast WiFi if you need it, and a village that does the rest.

Dog-Friendly by Nature

Bring the dog!

We built The Old Stables around the way we actually holiday, and for us, that means the dog comes with us. You’ll find canal walks and countryside loops straight from the front door, dog-friendly pubs within a few minutes’ walk, and a village that’s used to muddy paws.

Arrive by Train, Leave the Car at Home

No Car Needed

Kintbury station is a short walk from the cottage, with direct trains to Newbury, Hungerford, and London Paddington in about an hour. Walk the canal into Hungerford or Newbury and catch the train straight back — it’s entirely possible to holiday here without a car at all.
